worship, walk, work

OUR DISCIPLESHIP MODEL

At Harvest Bible Chapel, our focus is not on a quantity of disciples, but on a quality of discipleship. We're excited about fulfilling what Jesus Christ has called us to do. Jesus’ own words in Matthew 28:19-20 best describes what this mission looks like:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

We believe this Great Commission statement--the call to make disciples--is the task to which every believer in Jesus Christ is called, not just those in leadership. This is mission that drives every ministry at Harvest. In the spirit of the Great Commandment, we desire to make quality disciples of Jesus at every step by loving God and loving one another.

We believe that a quality disciple of Jesus Christ will passionately pursue these three commitments:

WORSHIPS CHRIST

In every setting, Harvest Bible Chapel is seeking to make disciples who worship Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth with their entire lives.  By God’s grace, we are committed to Spirit-led and truth-filled worship in all of our weekend worship services, prayer nights, small group gatherings, and many other ministries. Worship is more than singing, and we want to see Jesus glorified by men and women who worship him in everything they do.

WALKS WITH CHRIST

We believe that our growth in our relationship with Jesus Christ accelerates when we are actively and humbly engaged in small groups. Connecting with the rest of the body of Christ is not only helpful, it’s critical. Our aim is to encourage one another to grow in Christ through life-giving worship, application-oriented Bible study, prayer, and mutual accountability.

WORKS FOR CHRIST

Finally, a quality disciple of Jesus Christ seeks active roles of service in our church body. Taking our lead from Jesus who gave his life for us, we seek to make disciples who give their time, treasures, and talents to build up the body of Christ through service.
